Fried bananas – recipe
We used to call them Banana Friteroles.
Here’s what you need:
- 2 bananas
- 1 egg
- 100-150 gr flour
- 2 table spoons sugar
- pinch of salt
- pinch of baking soda
- oil for frying
Usually I use these products to fry 4 bananas, but this depends on the amount of the mixture for frying.
Cut the bananas in circles. Mix the egg, the sugar, the salt and the baking soda. Then slowly add the flour while stir the other products. The mixture must be something like cake batter.
Fill a frying pan with about 2 cm oil and wait until it gets warm. Carefully roll each banana circle in the mixture and then put it into the oil until it gets like “golden”. Then turn the banana to fry on the other side. I fry them for about a minute or two on a gas stove.
We used to make these as kids (de Rose was great at encouraging us to cook – otherwise we could never live alone!!)
